Currently following governing mechanism prevail in HAASHAR Association

1.       Board of Governors

Board of Governors (BoG) comprises 14 members (10 Male – 4 Females) who have got diverse professional background and working experience in national and international development and conservation organizations. BoG usually meets biannually to oversee working of HAASHAR, approve policies for efficient management of HAASHAR, ensure ethical integrity and to maintain accountability, assess board performance, induct new board members and to enhance HAASHAR’s public standing. Constitution of HAASHAR Association provides broad framework for the working of BoG and also lays down specific rules concerning membership in the BoG.

2.       Steering Committee

Steering Committee, a subordinate forum to the BoG, comprises six members of the Board of Governors and meets on bimonthly basis to provide ongoing strategic guidance for the implementation of projects. Steering Committee is an advisory body to the Board of Governors but has got directive powers for the implementation of projects. Terms of Reference of the Steering Committee include:

      • Determining, monitoring and strengthening the programs and services of HAASHAR Association
      • Ensuring effective use of HAASHAR’s resources and setting up appropriate accountability systems
      • Staff recruitments,
      • Opening and dealing with bank accounts.
      • Delegating / appointing signatories for bank accounts.
      • Approval to the staff for various purchases.
      • Renting / shifting of office premises
      • Formulation of policies, procedures and systems
      • Handling personnel issues and making decisions regarding staff salaries, packages, appraisals and increments etc.

Sources of Income / Expenditure

Service charges, donations and grants from national and international development agencies and donors and local philanthropists.
